      <description>&lt;p&gt;Good post.  It goes without saying that prioritizing is the management skill that needs to be taught as opposed to the standard &amp;#8220;time management&amp;#8221; drivel that puts you on the road to unhealthy &amp;#8220;workaholism&amp;#8221;.  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Sometimes you have to let &amp;#8220;bad things happen&amp;#8221; and as you have written, many times they are not really bad things.  Not to digress too much, but many times a corporate helpdesk can contribute to the problem of lack of priority.  When you think about it, you have others making decisions on priority and assigning you a task with a deadline.  Bad for a in-house development team who have to drop projects just to look at a helpdesk ticket.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
